How to Raise the Free Chlorine Level in the Pool
Free chlorine is part of the chemical mix necessary to maintain a safe pool. While the standard goal is between 1 and 2.5 parts per million, or up to 4 or 5 parts per million if using stabilized chlorines, the levels of free chlorine are sometimes raised to shock or superchlorinate the pool. There are also chemicals that increase the levels of free chlorine.
